Step 3: Give syrup an hour to cool in the pot. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer and allow to cool fully (throw out or save the berries for later). Keep chilled for up to two weeks in an airtight container.
Fresh BERRY LEMONADE
Step 1: Combine 5 cups of ice-cold water, lemon juice, and Strawberry Simple Syrup in a pitcher. Serve with fruit and over ice.

2. Basil-cranberry Spritzer

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Heat the water and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. To dissolve the sugar, stir. After adding 1/2 cup of basil leaves and taking the pan from the stove, steep it for 20 minutes.
Strain the syrup and let it to cool for a minimum of 60 minutes. Combine syrup, fresh lime juice, and unsweetened cranberry juice in a big pitcher.
Step 3: Pour cold club soda into pitcher; stir in 1/2 cup basil leaves, lime slices, and fresh cranberries. Pour spritzers over ice, add a dash of more club soda to each, then sprinkle basil on top to serve.

3. Watermelon Granita with Ice

Step 2: Puree the watermelon with the lemon syrup in a blender, working in batches. Pour mixture into square or metal loaf pan; freeze for approximately 8 hours, or until set.
Step 3: Using a fork, scrape the top into big flakes when ready to serve.

4. Fizzy Cranberry-Lemonade Punch

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1: Blend the undiluted lemonade concentrate and cranberry-juice cocktail in a large pitcher.
